Addictive Habits ~

Gambling, Drinking, Drugs, Eating, Buying, Smoking - virtually anything can become compulsive or addictive in one form or another!

I happened to catch the Larry King Live show last night with guest Wynonna Judd, who discussed her compulsive eating disorder with Larry and online callers. I must say that although I've been a big fan of hers for many years, I was major impressed by her openness and courage in discussing her disorder and subsequent rehabilitation treatment on "live" TV.

Besides Wynonna's frank and open answers to Larry's and callers questions, was her commitment to succeed in overcoming her self-destructive behavior. Foremost was her commitment to the realization that she and she alone was the only one capable of conquering this problem.

In summing up the program, and injecting my own thoughts, I think Wynonna nailed the crux of the subject by saying that an individual with any type of compulsive behavior has to acknowledge to themselves that they have a problem, address how they plan to deal with their problem and then seek the necessary help to overcome their compulsive behavior or addiction...
